How to Save at Rite Aid
When I first started couponing several years ago, I didn’t think that I was going to like couponing at Rite Aid. As I learned the ins and outs of shopping and using coupons at this store, I learned to appreciate the great ways that Rite Aid customers can save. Recently Rite Aid has made some drastic changes and, again, I didn’t think I was going to like it, but I have decided that the changes were good ones. Here are the current ways you can save big at Rite Aid.
This is one of the recent changes that Rite Aid has made. Their former Wellness+ card has been replaced with the Plenti card. It is a store loyalty card that gives you access to sale prices and store rewards. There are weekly and monthly Plenti Points deals that earn you points that go onto your card. Every 100 points gives you $1.00 for future purchases. You must have at least 200 Plenti points to use your points toward savings at checkout. Before this change to Plenti points, the store rewards, called +Up Rewards, had to be used within two weeks before they expired. Now Plenti points are valid for at least two years! You can sign up for the card in-store or online at riteaid.com.
The weekly Rite Aid ad comes with the Sunday newspaper or you can pick up one at the entrance to the store. You can also view it online or in various smartphone or tablet apps. The ad gives you details on the coming week’s sales and Plenti Points deals. Also, you’ll find in-ad coupons that can be stacked with manufacturer coupons to help reduce your costs at checkout.
This is an option that will especially appeal to those people who don’t have the time nor the inclination to clip paper coupons. Load2Card ecoupons are found online at riteaid.com or, even better, on the Rite Aid app. If you have the app on your phone, you can load coupons to your card before leaving home or as you shop. The coupon discounts will come off automatically at the register. No muss! No fuss!
Sometimes when checking out at Rite Aid, you will find coupons printed on the bottom of your receipt. These are usually store coupons that can be stacked with manufacturer coupons. If the number with the bar code starts with ‘RC’ it is a store coupon.
Another kind of coupon that you might get at checkout is a Catalina. These coupons could be a savings on a product you purchase in the future or they might just inform you of offers of money back on future purchases.
Member Status Levels
Rite Aid has a program for their shoppers who have and use the Plenti card. You earn one wellness+ point for every dollar spent on eligible purchases when you scan your Plenti card at the register or make purchases online at riteaid.com. As you earn points you achieve status levels that give you up to 20% off almost everything in your Rite Aid store. Your wellness+ points reset at the beginning of every calendar year, but whatever status you have achieved one year carries over for the whole next year. Here are the levels, points required and the discounts earned.
Bronze – 250 to 499 points – 10% off Rite Aid Brand products for a year
Silver – 500 to 999 points – 10% off almost the entire store for a year
Gold – 1000 + points – 20% off almost the entire store for a year
